Core Values*
We believe that the church is not a place that you go. It is a community of Christ followers on a mission to become more like Jesus, serve our world and live deeply as family. Therefore, the following values are the values that ought to be evident in the life of every Christ follower. When they are being fully expressed in our lives and in our community, you’ll truly see the Kingdom of God at work.
Transformation - Becoming More Like Jesus
We believe that God wants to redeem every part of us, and that Jesus' message of salvation is holistic in nature. All of life is spiritual life, therefore spiritual transformation can only occur when every part of our life is fully surrendered to God: work, family, hobbies, relationships, etc. We believe that a Christ follower is one who is committed to intentionally pursuing and displaying the fruit of the Spirit of God (Matthew 22:37-40; Galatians 5:22-23), and actively living out the values of the Kingdom of God.
Missional - Serving Our World
Jesus calls His church to be a compelling force for good in the world. We believe the church is to be an active agent of change in society by caring for and serving those who are poor, oppressed or marginalized, thereby living out the transforming message of the resurrected Jesus (Deut. 10:17-19; Deut. 15:7-11; Prov. 19:17; Micah 6:8; 1 John 3:17; Matthew 25). We believe that the church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices and loves, caring about the things God cares about. We were created to live for something larger than ourselves.
Community - Living As Family
We believe that we were created to live deeply with one another, to carry each other’s burdens and share our possessions, to pray for and confess our sins to each other, to suffer and celebrate together. (Acts 2:42-46; 1 John 1:6-8; Heb. 10:25) It's in these sacred relationships and honest, loving communities that God transforms us. We believe that God's dreams for us, and for our world, cannot be accomplished outside of community.
